Hi Sergiu,
Does this Alpha-2 mean I can not use "au" for australian language
(like ApplicationResources_au.properties)?
How should I bring in nl, au, etc languages that are not out of the
box supported?
It means that you cannot use
ApplicationResources_en_US.properties,
ApplicationResources_en_AU.properties,
ApplicationResources_en_GB.properties and so on.
You can use
ApplicationResources_en.properties,
ApplicationResources_au.properties,
ApplicationResources_gb.properties and so on, but this is not quite
standard. Since it works, and there's no other way of doing this, I
guess this is an OK solution for the moment. Note that one thing you
must take care of is accidental content duplication. In XWiki a document
can be translated in different languages, and users would access
translations on the same URL. See
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Features/I18N for details.
So, what could happen, is that since australian english and canadian
english are seen as different languages, when an australian user edits
the content of a canadian document, he will create a translation into
australian of that document. Users browsing in different locales will
see different content on the same document if they are not careful of
this "feature".
Another aspect you should consider is that by default XWiki detects the
user's browser language and displays in that language, but again, this
only covers the first part of the language, which is 'en' for all
english locales.
These translations will work flawlessly in a non-multiwiki environment,
where only one of these locales is active. And of course, since this is
an open source project, your contributions are welcome. See
