I am trying to run xwiki with Ingres, for this I have converted file
xwiki-db-0.9.2.sql to ingres compatible format. And I ran this file on
Ingres database. I have everything else in place: drivers, configuration in
hibernate.cfg.xml etc...
My app server is JBoss 4.0.5, so when I start xwiki I get:
17:54:49,830 FATAL [DBCPConnectionProvider] Could not create a DBCP pool

at java.util.Hashtable.put(Hashtable.java:396)

com.xpn.xwiki.store.DBCPConnectionProvider.configure(DBCPConnectionProvider.java:110)

org.hibernate.connection.ConnectionProviderFactory.newConnectionProvider(ConnectionProviderFactory.java:80)
at
org.hibernate.cfg.SettingsFactory.createConnectionProvider(SettingsFactory.java:349)
at
org.hibernate.cfg.SettingsFactory.buildSettings(SettingsFactory.java:58)
at
org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration.buildSettings(Configuration.java:1509)
at
org.hibernate.cfg.Configuration.buildSessionFactory(Configuration.java:1054)
at
com.xpn.xwiki.store.XWikiHibernateBaseStore.initHibernate(XWikiHibernateBaseStore.java:125)
so i removed connection.provider_class property from hibernate.cfg.xml.
Afterwards when i tried running xwiki i got this exception and xwiki page is
not coming:
18:11:49,447 ERROR [JDBCExceptionReporter] line 1, Table 'xwikidoc' owned by
'advait.trivedi' does not contain column 'xwd_default_template'.
.......
I noticed that this column is not part of "create table" sql but somehow it
is getting added to the table definition afterwards. Because i noticed this
column using "describe xwikidoc" mysql command. Please help

I think once this happened to me also (when using mysql). The problem there
was with the configuration in hibernate.cfg.xml This happened to me because
I used a different port for mysql and forgot to change the connection
parameters.

I think you are also having a configuration problem (Mostly in
hibernate.cfg.xml..), although you say that you have everything else in
place: drivers, configuration in hibernate.cfg.xml etc... Hope this will
solve your problem.

Hi, I was able to start xwiki 0.9.2 with Ingres database. My App Server is
JBoss 4.0.5_GA But I had to follow this procedure:
1) Run xwiki DDL script 2) start server
I got exceptions regarding failed CREATE TABLE DDL statement, It was due to
column definition in Ingres varchar datatype not accepting > 60000 char. The
tables that failed creation were xwikidoc, xwikiclasses, xwikicomments,
xwikilargestrings, xwikipreferences, 3) I manually fired these DDL
statements and then start the server. 5) xwiki starts OK. But admin/admin
user is unable to login. Also default Admin pages like, create new user etc.
are not available.
Can someone give me a script to load default Admin pages into xwiki schema?

Hi,
You should just download the default xar from
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download and follow the
installation instructions.
Also, the correct way of handling the length limit I think would have
been to change xwiki.hbm.xml , located inside WEB-INF/lib/xwiki*.jar
