For the logo, the only thing you needed to do it to put a file called
logo.gif or logo.jpg of size 140x70 in the XWiki.XWikiPreferences page
(as an attachment).
It should be automatically detected and used.
If you change header.vm and put title.gif it will look for the file in
the Skin.. It will look for it as an attachment of the MySkin page.

Hi,
just installed xwiki and now I'm trying to figure out how to
customize my skin.
I've found the MySkin skin and had some success editing it.
Now I've edited the header section of the skin and I'm trying to pull
out the
title.gif which I've attached to "MySkin" page.
How can I reference it in the header section?
I've been trying to follow this advice:
http://www.xwiki.com/xwiki/bin/view/Doc/HowToCreateASkin
What is the correct way to go about changing the logo/style?
I've copied the contents of header.vm/footer.vm from the defaults
directory into the fields of MySkin page.
Thanks for a hint
