Nice job!
my remarks:
- I think also the "recent changes" section is a bit "oversized"
compared to
the others sections because when you open the page, you only see this at
first sight.
I think that looking at the recent changes at first sight is a good thing :)
The dashboard is a bunch of divs with some includes, it can be
customized very easily.
- The number of items in recent changes should be
reduced (it is already
possible as you said in a previous mail) so that the recent changes is not
too tall compared to Spaces+Tags and so that you can guess there are other
contents below recent changes without scrolling too much.
The content bellow dashboard was a leftover, I've cleaned it.
About recent changes number of items I think 30 is not that big, may
be we should add other infos on the left so that a new wiki dashboard
doesn't look that unbalanced (as Ludovic suggested in the comments).
Also note that the average wiki contains way more space than
incubator, 30/40+ spaces is common.
- Maybe default height for one recent change could be
reduced a bit by
putting the name just beside the photo for example... I like this size of
photo...
I've reduced the height of the avatars to 40px on incubator yesterday
to show how it looks, the original size was 60px. Putting the name
beside the avatar could be nice but it won't look pretty with long
names (take mine for example ;).
- considering balance, I would prefer a smaller column
for recent changes...
not 50/50 but 60/40 for example... this is a personal opinion :)
The current balance is 60/40, rationale:
- Give room to the supposed most important part of the dashboard.
- Space names are rarely long, otoh pages names often are.
- Recent changes panel holds more info/img/links and even expandable
comment areas, they technically need more space.
