Hello, The way I see the insertion / creation of additional themes is not necessary by adding new themes to the default XE distribution, but making possible a way to download new themes created by the community members (giving the fact that it's so easy to create a Color Theme). For example, community members could add new themes as extensions (http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/) and a link to these extensions of type Theme could be added on Themes.WebHome page. The main idea is that I would prefer for the community to add and 'exchange' themes on xwiki.org. This way we would encourage the implication of the community members and we would also encourage creativity and diversity.

Something new on the default distribution could be related to CSS3 support. Caty has made at one point a very nice Color Theme based on CSS3. And since we talk about dropping IE6 support on 3.0, I think that this would be a proper time to insert more interesting visual elements. Raluca.
