In fact I need a vote for applications as theses are used in 1.5 :
1) create a branch for each of them

Yes, also tested in 1.3 and 1.2 the first time this has been discussed.

Considering you last commit: -1, it'd mean that official xars would
stay the same while user created xars (with 1.6) now contain pages
with the xml extension.
