I don't like this:

Hasty people could just copy/paste it as it is. How about putting that
as a comment:
<!-- See
https://github.com/xwiki/xwiki-commons/blob/master/pom.xml for
the latest available version -->
<version>3.1</version>
As a minor remark, it's repeated quite often that "your project can be
used as a dependency by other projects", so it could imply that
contributions are generally modules/libraries, and not stand-alone
applications.
I haven't touched any of those. They were there before. Please feel free to improve
them.
I've also just added some information about the SVN GitHub view:
http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/SourceRepository#HGettingSour…
"XWiki is an ObjectWeb's project"
is wrong, it should be OW2 (fixed it
already).
Please review it and let me know if it's ok.
I've removed several notions that don't make sense anymore like sandbox, personal
directory space.
Well, we could still say that github allows anyone to host its own
projects, without the need to be accepted on xwiki-contrib, and that any
repository can be later moved under the xwiki-contrib umbrella.
Yes I agree. Can you add it?
There are
still a few loose ends. For example have we finished moving stuff from
http://svn.xwiki.org/svnroot/xwiki/contrib/ ?
Not yet, so far it was done as needed. Should we move all of them ASAP?
I think so, so that we can really remove SVN and avoid all confusion. We need to decide
what we do with "retired" projects. Some xwiki-retired organization on github or
simply inside xwiki-contrib and just mention the "retired" in a top level
README?
Thanks
