hmmm..
I tried that..but the xwiki.log does not show anything and I am not
receiving any mail either.
I remember, Sergiu mentioning something about setting up a Sendmail Server
..So, do I have to do it (eventhough I have provided an SMTP server name)
How do I go about setting the sendmail server. (Could that be the the reason
for the watchlist not working fine for me?)
What is the purpose of the MailSender Plugin that is already included in the
wiki.

You need to set the admin email and a valid smtp server in
Administration > Preferences > Registration
