Our jabber chat experience has now been going on for several
months. I
think it's working quite well and I'd like to propose that we make it
official. I'd also like to keep the IRC bridge since it's also
working
quite well.
Once we agree about making the jabber chat official I'll document it
on http://dev.xwiki.org/

I'm +1 too but only provided we get an archive mechanism working
again,
either through a bot as we did for
http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/IRC/ or by changing the settings of our Jabber server. Not
being able to
see what
happened while one was away is sometimes annoying (even though it
forces us
to use the list for important decisions, which is a good thing).
