Yes this is a good idea and I think it'll work. Are you going to do it in
this manner:
* do an initial checkout on the server
* have a scheduler (quartz?) that does a svn update from time to time
* when the user saves a page do a svn commit and if there's a svn error do a
svn update and try the svn commit again. In case of a second error, then
tell the user his change cannot be merged and ask him to save his changes
and cancel the edition in order to see the new version of the page. A later
improvement would be to show a web conflict editor.

working on realization of XWikiStoreInterface to storing pages
and attachments in svn (JavaSvn lib).
This is very cool and something I'm also very interested in. Would mind sharing what architecture you're
planning to have? Are you going
to create a chain of XWikiStoreInterface (meaning the data would be
saved both in SVN and in the database)?
Only in Svn, it's almost ready
(already save and load pages and
attachments).
If not, how do you plan to implement searching in
SVN for example?

In what a problem? Where is a mistake?
Unfortunately I'm just starting with xwiki and I can't help you for
now. I hope someone else here can provide some help. I have my hands
full till the 15th of Dec but after that I hope I'll be able to help
