I don't think there is such an option, I can either transfer ownership to
you, transfer it directly to xwiki-contrib or you can create an empty repo
so I can add the files myself.

Yes, that might be simpler but I think it defeats the purpose of me
learning how to do all of this.
You would need to be an admin of xwiki-contrib to do the transfer AFAIK.
However, if you still think I should transfer
ownership, I have no other
objections.
I see you’ve added me to your repo but I’m not admin so I cannot initiate
the transfer.
