The goal of all this is to have

IMO to do this during RC phase because it can't break existing
features.
Ok, provided it doesn't delay the release date.
One thing I'd like to see too is a documentation page on xwiki.org for UIX, listing
all known extension points provided by the platform. It could be put in the DevGuide on
platform.xwiki.org.
