Your proposal make me see a "Create blog entry" button in some menu,
then a "Create" button in the creation form.

"Publish" button, this seems more "humane" to me.

post" to "Post a new entry". Posting a new entry sounds too techie to
me.
I'd even prefer "Create" rather than "Write" ;)
"Create blog entry" sounds clearer to me than "Create blog post". A
blog post is the entry when it's been posted. You can't create a blog
post since it's not yet been posted :)
And if you create a blog entry it still have to be written :)
Our framework must be generic but I don't see why our terminologies
should. I like when a software terminology refers to more IRL stuff, I
prefer "people" to "users", I prefer to have a dock than a taskbar,
and when it comes to write something (note/blog post/message) I like
to see the word "Write" not "Create" :)
ps : When I'm talking to someone I tend to say "Have you seen the last
post on AnyGeekyBlog", not "Have you seen the last entry on
AnyGeekyDatabase^WBlog".
