Indeed the separation between the FAQBot and XWiki is important..
It kinds of depends how much stuff would be nice to do in XWiki versus
how much is in an independent FAQBot..
You could just view the wiki as a source of data for the FAQBot, and the
FAQBot is a completely independent servlet application which just reads
data from the wiki in XML format.. The UI of the FAQBot would be an
independent servlet API..
You could also build the FAQBot as a library which can be embedded in
XWiki using a plugin..
You could also put the FAQBot engine in a SOAP (or REST or XML-RPC) Web
Service and write and XWiki plugin to interact with the FAQBot..
So you would have the user interface in XWiki but everything would go
through the SOAP API to interact with the FAQBot engine (both pushing
data to the faq bot and querying the faqbot)..
I like the idea of a web service.. but you could do it step by step..
For the part that would be packaged as an XWiki Application, Jeremi will
send you some information on how this will work and when we plan it to
be ready. Plugins are not part of XWiki Application, as they require a
server install..
for testing application packaging, you need the last svn version. I
will try to package some applications next week to make a demo.
