I still think we need a bit more time for the first beta. We have 34
solved issues, and 30 planned for beta1. But it's the majority's call.
We're working in time boxing mode so what matters are the release
dates. The content is adjusted according to the development power we
have. What this means is that we're going to move the 30 planned
issues (which btw were not really planned - We moved in there
everything we thought should be fixed "ideally" but without
considering manpower - thus it's quite logical that it's not matching
and that we have to move them to B2). We would need at least 1 month
more to fix those remaining 30 issues (+ the new ones we would add)
and that's not going to help us. In addition there are users out
there waiting for some stuff that are already fixed in B1 and it's
better if they get it earlier than later. It'll also provide faster
feedback for us.
In summary this is all about deciding to do timeboxing or not. I'm
strongly in favor of doing it as you've guessed but if other
committers don't think it's a good idea anymore then we should vote
not to do it and we'll tally the results. To go further I don't think
there's any other possible mode in open source development as usually
the majority of committers work when they have time... and releases
never get made... This is what plagues the majority of OSS projects
(check how many are at 0.9 and for how long they've been in that
state ;-)).
WDYT?
I'm OK for the rest of the roadmap.
cool :)

Hi commiters,
Following our recent conversation, I'd like us to agree on the 1.1
roadmap. Here's my proposal in term of timing:
* 1.1 B1 - 28th of May
* 1.1 B2 - 18th Of June
* 1.1 B3 - 9th of July
* 1.1 RC1 - 30th of July
* 1.1 RC2 - 20th of August
* 1.1 Final - 3rd of September
Note: This is time-boxed development so the delivery dates don't
change (or as little as possible) but the content may change.
See the other thread for the goals defined for 1.1.
Here's my +1
Thanks
-Vincent
