I wonder if this is of use to the XWiki community. As
part of the Guanxi
project, we turned XWiki into a Shibboleth Service Provider. It's proof of
concept just now. All it does it protect the user registration page so you
can define rules on who can register.
The next step is to integrate auto account creation into XWiki so that you
don't need to register or create accounts if you come in via Shibboleth.
You can have resources in XWiki and can define rules such as "members of
institution X can view these" without having to create accounts for those
people.
We presented a demo of a shibbed XWiki at JA-SIG in December. The slides
are at:
http://guanxi.uhi.ac.uk/xwiki/bin/download/Main/Dissemination/GuanxiAustin_…
it's the second last slide in the presentation that shows the XWiki-shibb
integration.
I think we'll wait until 1.0 has been finalised before continuing with the
auto account creation part and turning XWiki into a proper Shibboleth
Service Provider.
cheers,
Alistair
Hi,
It's a good idea.
I don't think the account creation will change before the 1.0. You can
look at the ldap plugin for the accounts management.
Thanks you,
