I was just wondering where I can get the 1.0 beta standalone or war. I
really don't want to compile from src and the links on the xwiki site are
still broken.
Thanks,
Chad Westfall
Hi,
There seems to be a problem when I synchronise with the svn repository on my
linux (kubuntu 6.06) machine...
Eclipse fails to compile and calls out the following files as containing
invalid chars:
core/src/main/java/com.xpn.xwiki.util.Util
core/src/main/java/com.xpn.xwiki.render.macro.UseMacro
core/src/main/java/com.xpn.xwiki.render.macro.DisplayMacro
core/src/main/java/com.xpn.xwiki.web.ImportAction
core/src/main/java/com.xpn.xwiki.web.ExportAction
All these files are aparently unreadable using UTF-8 encoding - from what I
can see it is due to accents etc in the source files (for creation dates, eg
Date: 25 août 2004 in DisplayMacro).
I can fix the problem for myself (tell Eclipse to treat them as ISO-8859-1
not UTF-8)...
Anyone else suffering this? Should the source get changed so that the chars
are valid utf ones ?
A minor issue... looking forward to beta 1 - when the download link works ;)
Cheers,
Dan
Hi everyone,
Ludovic is going to cut the release later today so please all refrain from
committing any risky change to the trunk. For the next release we'll
probably need to branch some days before the release date so that people can
continue working on the trunk while the branch for the releases is being
stabilized.
Thanks
-Vincent

Hi all,
XWiki.com has been upgraded to the latest SVN version (which is close to
1.0B1).
This upgrade was partly forces upon us because of incompabilities
between certain wikis running the most recent version and others running
an older one. Due to changes to the class definition system, this was
not possible anymore.
Let us know if you see any problems on the hosted wikis
This also means that when an XWiki is upgraded to 1.0B1 it will be be
downgradable. This means admins need to be carefull and backup the database.

Hi,
I'd like to propose using "1.0-beta-1" in the released file names. For
example:
* xwiki-1.0-beta-1.exe: standalone install - windows installer
* xwiki-1.0-beta-1.zip: standalone install - all platforms
* xwiki-1.0-beta-1.war: standard war - for users who want to setup their own
container+DB
* xwiki-1.0-beta-1.jar: core JAR (for plugin developers for example)
The reason for this naming is:
1) Clearly expresses what is it (vs "1.0b1")
2) It follows Maven naming conventions
Thanks
-Vincent
