Hi,
Initially, we wanted to update the administration UI to support nested
spaces and, in particular, to replace the select input for navigating
between space administrations with a tree.
However, it now seems that dropping it completely is a better alternative
and that we could consider the administration mode as either part of a
Nested Document's administration mode or part of the wiki's administration
mode. We really don`t need to switch between one-another, like we don`t
switch between pages in edit mode.
Any navigation we might need should be handled by the breadcrumbs and the
new (to come) tree displayer [1]. The wiki administration is accessible
from the drawer [2] component.
I’m +1 too but we should improve a bit the the way we can navigate to the administration
of a Document (be it nested or terminal):
* When using ctrl+g, I’d like to have an “Administer” button when the user has the
permission
* When in Admin action, display the breadcrumb in the UI so that users can click on
parent documents to go to their admin
Note: ideally we would have the ability to have a
dropdown box for each parent and be able to click on “Administer” link there but we
discussed that and apparently I’m the only one who liked this ;)). Thus navigating to a
parent doc’s (or a children’s admin by using the breadcrumb tree) will take 2 to 3 clicks.
Please see the issue [3] for some more details:.
Here's my +1.
Thanks,
Eduard
P.S.: I`m not really sure if that feature was ever really used that much.
It’s more important with Nested Documents and the abiity to set permissions at different
levels. We would need some better Admin right UI anyway for this though, to have an
overall view in one screen.
Thanks
