Thanks for your attention so far
I confirm that I download the plugin from
http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Design/OfficeConverter
Recently I tried to convert an OpenOffice document with a automatic index. The result was
almost
satisfactory. The generated XWiki page have each index item refering for the respective
chapter, by a label
(bookmark), but the chapters titles weren't identified with those labels, so when I
click on an index item, I
was targeted for the begining of the same page in another browser window. If I put the
missing labels in the
chapters titles the index works just fine.
I have not test the automatic index in office doument, so I don't know
why. But the conversion to html is not cleaned completely. I will try
to fix this in the next version.
Another question. Imagine that after I convert a large
OpenOffice document (more than 50 pages) into XWiki, I
want to split it into several Wiki pages or several sections (that can be edited
separately), separated by
chapters. Can you tell me if it's possible or if it will be avaiable in future
versions?
This feature is attractive. I will consider this user case. But maybe
in the next next release. In the next version of office converter,
titles are converted to section level in xwiki syntax. If each chapter
in document should have a title, so the result of the conversion will
separated to sections by the titles.
Thanks in advance
Bruno Neves
