Hi,
Very nice :P
___Remarks on the current UI___:
1. The position for the palette.gif is not constant (down for main
containers, up for the rest);
2. The palette.gif representing #xwikimaincontainter and #mainContentArea
are always visible when hovering on other child elements. This is not good
if you consider palette to be an indicator of the current changeable
element.
3. You can open all the .colorthemewizard-picker but they overlap, so
there's no advantage in keeping them open and not close them when you click
somewhere else.
4. The color change for Panel Header Background color is not visible because
the box is overlapping the element. Same for Collapsed panel, Informative
text, etc.
5. When hovering the palette.gif we should display a helpful text.
___Other thoughts___:
The main problems are that I don't know how many variables I have and what
is the relation between them.
Would be nice to have an "Advanced" expandable area, just like the old
representation, where I can see all the variables, this way I have an
overview of the current variables.
This would also help the rapidity of changing one color. I need to change
only the border color (which is not very obvious to find in the tables
area), I need to search for it and randomly click until I find it. I can't
just simply go to its variable location and change it. If you think Object
Editor is enough we can leave it.
Another idea would be to have a Status bar.
When hovering an area, the Status bar shows the variables available:
Ex. Hovering the logo, I should see that I can change 3 variables: Page
header background color, Banner image, Banner position.
This would help findability.
