Hi,
Thanks guys for this release :)
Just deployed it and second experience of "distribution wizard" is becoming
really nice.
I have some minor comments though:
- on first screen, it detected I had to move to UI 4.3.M2, but by mistake I
chose "Continue" without installing it. Maybe it's me, or maybe the
proposal to install it was not "flashy" enough. Usually when you have a
dialog with buttons as "skip" or "continue", you don't expect
having
something to do inside the dialog itself. But again, maybe it's only me
missing some sleep ;-)
- anyway it was proposed on next screen ("Extensions") so it was nice. But
maybe this screen is missing a "Back" button. Maybe then also, the need to
have 2 distinct steps in the wizard is not so evident (for now ?).
- on second screen, when upgrading extensions, nice progress bar is
displayed, and the install logs automatically scroll to the bottom (last
logs). But when computing install plan (just before), there's also a nice
progress bar, but logs stick to the top. When manually scrolling back,
display is moved back to the top as soon as some log is added
- once distribution wizard is closed, maybe it could be interesting to
provide possibility to check what happened during last execution of
distribution wizard ? (logs, actions performed ...). Maybe it would be nice
to even get the history (and not just last execution) from an admin UI. Or
to re-launch the wizard without having to restart the wiki (maybe it's
feasible, I didn't really check).
I must say that I didn't check in JIRA if some of these comments are
already tracked ... :/
But I must say, comparing to previous upgrades, that importing the new
default UI Xar was really simple and it was really nice, so thanks for that
guys :)
Best regards,
Jeremie
