Subject: Re: [xwiki-dev] [Vote] Remove the resolved state in JIRA
The 'resolved' state in my oppinion means that a fix was found for the
bug, but the code is not yet written or commited, or there exists a
conflict with existing code, so it cannot be commited for the moment.

I'm sorry but this is not how it works in jira... :-) In JIRA an issue that
is resolved means that the issues is solved. Actually it's possible to
release a version which has resolved issues that are not closed.
The resolved state is there for projects which want the reporter to confirm
that the issues has indeed been fixed and that it matches what they wanted.
However this is seldom used and it doesn't really apply to open source
projects. Actually I've never seen a single project which has been using the
resolved state correctly (It's possible to do but requires different
practices and lots of rigor).
Thanks
-Vincent
