Regarding your issue, are you logged in when you look for the XWiki space ?
The XWiki space is only visible for authenticated users with
administrative privileges or with the "advanced user" option turned on in
their profile.

search for 'XWikiClasses' and find it in the XWiki space. I see neither the
XWiki space under the "Spaces" heading nor do I get anything from the search
result. Not sure if that tutorial is referencing some older version of the
software or what.
