Hi, We have several places where we need to display a document reference; for ex: - rename page - copy page etc One solution is to not display the reference and break it into discrete parts, for ex: Source wiki: <wiki name> Source space: <space name> Source page: <page name> However there are drawbacks: 1) it takes space 2) when we introduced nested spaces it's going to be even more complex to do so... I was wondering if instead we couldn't go another way which is to have a visual way to display a reference. Do you mean this: Mywiki >> Space: MySpace >> Page: MyPage We need some various mockups in situation to go further IMO. The top level menu is not very logical since the wiki part has no prefix (not sure why BTW). I'm also worried it's going to take a lot of space when put in situation but let's see some mockups. It was initialy logical but early testers were puzzled to see "wiki: xwiki" everywhere (there's no pretty name for the wiki in non virtual mode). I agree it feels a bit weird but is has the advantage to lighten up and make a little less complex the top menu. JV.

It looks nice and I like it. I wonder if it's not too visually distracting. I think I would have preferred something visual that looked more like it's a reference, maybe just a box around it would be enough (might be even more distracting...) So what are the places we could use this? - rename - copy - delete (in the delete confirmation message) Is this related to the colibri skin only? How do we offer a velocity macro for it that works for all skins (more specifically can the styling be done uniquely with CSS)? Thanks -Vincent

I like the "target location" part a lot. It's consistent with our use of vertical forms elsewhere. It could be used for rename, copy and also for create. The "source location" part is fine to me as well. We'd need to also use it in search results. Guillaume Is this related to the colibri skin only? How do we offer a velocity macro

-1 for the second idea. Hover-triggered UI tend not to work on mobile devices.

There are 2 proposals in the second idea. The first proposal has no hover. The question was more about separating completely the reference into discrete parts vs keeping the reference together and compact but with a visual way to easily identify each part in order to make it less technical and easier to use for end users.
