Hello,
I'd like to release the 1.0 version of the SpaceManager plugin.
You can see the features it implements on
http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Plugins/SpaceManagerPlugin. I will
update this document with installation notes and javadoc API as soon as it
is released.
Here is my +1 for it.

Perhaps this would need to be better documented, explaining what is a
space, how does it work, what does it do...

I also think the doc should be improved a bit.
* For example in "Spaces creation, retrieving, archiving, and deletion
facilities" what does "Space creation" means? I thought a Space was
created implicitely when creating the first document in it.
* Same question for "retrieving". What does it mean to retrieve a space?
* "Members and roles management for spaces". How does it fit with the
Rights Management UI in XE?
* "A space extension mechanism to create new custom types of spaces".
Do you have some examples that you could add to the page? I'm not sure
what type a space can have.
* Is this space manager meant to replace all the space related APIs in
the XWiki object?
I'm pretty sure this is clearer if I read the code but by just looking
at the doc it's hard to understand what it does.

No, I don't think this is the case. The Space object is distinct from wiki
spaces, and are not created automatically for each wiki space.
