+1 to the proposal.
I also agree that Application should probably there only for Admins or
Advanced Users.
This might be true for "Create Space" also.
We might be missing some rights here for "Create Space". This is a
long issue with the auto-creation of spaces which is allowed by XWiki,
where as long as you have edit rights on the wiki, you get space
creation rights without even necessarly having to go through the space
creation itself. This is probably another subject that we need to
handle separately.
Right now I suggest we only show Create Space and Create Applications
to Admin AND Advanced Users.
I think users should be allowed to create their personal spaces.
Also we have a problem with the notion of Space. Some people don't get at
first that there are used for organizing stuff. Some think that they are
used for application purposes (a space for Blog, a space for Invitation,
etc). They learn that spaces contain pages in the creation process.
If we gonna remove the ability to create spaces, normal users will create
all their pages on Main, which I don't think is the right behavior. First
because they will not see in the "Add" menu the possibility to create spaces
of their own and second because they would need an admin to create for them
the desired space.
IMO there is nothing advanced in creating a space.

The "Add" menu could contain just the entries:
- Page
- Space
- Application
Maybe "Application" should be displayed only for advanced users, WDYT?

the
create action will auto-generate the page name (according to the
options) and will preserve the current space [1].
Sounds good to me.
With this proposal we can benefit from the contextual actions (for
applicationWithinMinutes inside the designated
space) but we are not
dependent completely of the space, being able to create application
instances in an universal manner from the "Add" menu.
Also, the existing behavior for the wiki pages will be preserved.
That's cool.

context where the "Add" menu was launched.
Please provide feedback.
