Hi devs,
Here's an updated version of the WYSIWYG roadmap.
January 29:
* Major bugs fixed (Marius).
February 6:
* Native list support overloaded (Anca).
* New wysiwyg/wiki tabs and rewamp of the edit panel (JV).
* First version of the "wiki explorer" based on smartGWT, allow to
browse wikis, spaces and pages (JV).
* Displaying macros -- read only + placeholder (Marius).
* Continue fixing bugs (Marius).
February 13:
* Link editing (Anca).
* Link and Image menus (Anca).
* Wiki explorer 1.0. Allow to add spaces and pages, to browse
pages attachments (JV).
* API to handle macro parameters (Marius).
* Continue fixing bugs (Marius).
* Macro menu (Marius).
February 20:
* GWT wizard, allow to chain dialogs and to navigate between them.
Use of this wizard in the image plugin with 4 dialogs : current image
browser, upload file dialog, upload in progress dialog, options dialog
(Anca).
* Table menus + final dialog (JV).
* Generic way to insert/edit macros (Marius).
February 27:
* Final version of the Image UI (Anca).
* Final version of the Link UI (Anca).
* Final version of the Macro UI including a way to refresh macro

This one is taking more time than I thought, I hope I'll be able to
finish it in time in the end (Wiki explorer 1.0 on Feb 13).

Macros can be displayed (readonly) but in some cases
(delete/backspace) you can get inside them. Box wrapper done.
Placeholder for the empty ones is almost done. Marius plans to have
macro correctly displayed in the WYSIWYG by monday.

There are still bugs. 10 assigned to Marius. XWIKI-3191 is blocked by
a bug in the rendering. Next bug in the pipe: XWIKI-3187.
At this point we must expect a 3-4 days shift compared to the initial
schedule which means having the final version of the WYSIWYG in the
beginning of march.

This means that we're basically 1 week and a half late. We should

This means more than 2 weeks late. It means close to 3 weeks late
which is a lot. My guess is that if you plan it to be finished on the
14th then you have no margin for verification, last minute changes,
etc so it'll be delayed further.
To be able to release 1.8 final on the 14th we need it ready on the
11th IMO.
Also I don't think we should postpone the 1.8 final release later than
15th of March. Let's time box till the 11th-12th and we release
whatever we have at that time.
Thus let's work towards finishing each feature that is started till
the end so that it can be released. I'd rather have one screen less
for the release and everything else working than no screen at all
because nothing is fully finished.
