Hi devs,
The 3.3 Milestone 2 release was supposed to happen this past Monday, but
the codebase hasn't been stable enough for a release (failing tests, hot
commits triggering comments, unmerged branches).
Regarding failing tests, we are almost done, but there is now an issue
with o.x.t.u.a.UserProfileTest which hangs test-ui. This has happen just
after upgrade to Selenium 2.12.0. We need someone to look at it ASAP.
Most comments on my recent "hot" commit has been taken into account, and
only Vincent seems to be still unhappy. It should be noted that we have
progressed and even if the API is still fragile, it is far less then
before. It will stay a work in progress anyway for a few release, this is
probably unavoidable with such changes.
Proposal 1: Release 3.3 RC 1 next Monday, 21 November, effectively
dropping Milestone 2. This respects the initial schedule, although some of
the targeted features won't be fully usable. This means that everyone
should try to get their code stabilized.
Proposal 2: Lengthen the release by another week, releasing:
- Milestone 2 next Monday, November 21
- RC1 on November 28
- Final on December 5
I'm fine with either one, if the codebase is stable enough for a RC by
next Monday.
Like you I am fine with both, I would be even be more happy to branch
master as soon as possible since I have waiting stuff for 3.4. But if we
release RC1 on schedule, does it contains enough for a useful release ?
