You can certainly start looking and contribute but I can't assure you
that you'll be selected in the context of GSOC since I have no idea
how many slots Google will give us. In any case providing some pull
request would help being selected for sure. One idea of thing to look
at quickly is

assigned to it but seems I won't work on it until the very last
