[xwiki-users] Getting error on importing big .XAR file

Hi All, I am importing .XAR file which has exported from my older xwiki version. I am importing it to Xwiki 8.2.1 and it is breaking for >XAR size more than specified limit. Please help. Thanks & Regards, Piyush

[xwiki-users] Lots of questions and issues

Dear devs, over the past few months we have moved over to using xwiki as a replacement for your old sharepoint and mediawiki servers. Meanwhile we have accumulated a list of problems and questions we are unable to solve. Some of which open JIRA bugs might already exist. In my opinion this mailinglist is not suitable for this many questions (needs attachments, screenshots). How may we proceed? Should we create a jira entry for every issue? An extract of some problems (now running 8.4.3): - PDF Export: The pdf misses some elements of the page, for example display of info/warn/error marcros (see your sandbox page info and warning macro examples) and other stuff. Layout has big issues (images cut off, Tables cut off) - Multipage PDF Export: Pdf export collection extension is broken, MultipagePdfExport Space Export extension too. - No image lightbox by default, unclear how to implement it in the wysiwyg editor - Document tree is really cumbersome for normal users (we use currently use some velocity to show children), new children macro insufficient (shows translations and attachment) - DocumentTree Macro "finder" does not work correctly (finds only some pages?) As for just "questions", should be ask each one of them in an separate mail here on the list? Thank you very much, Mario

[xwiki-users] Editing panel

I found this code for editing panel and need help how to change the code to give a space for each title in the panel. <http://xwiki.475771.n2.nabble.com/file/n7602284/edit-panel_1.png> As you can see from the my recent modification panel, i want to give a space between upper title and below one. If you see from the panel, it looks like no differences between upper and below side. It looks like one overall title. How to edit, give the space between the title? [xwiki-users] Publication Workflow Usage

Hi Xwiki users, I have installed xwiki publication workflow 1.6 in xwiki 7.4.5 using the extension manager. I am able to successfully put a page in a workflow and then finally publish it to the publication space. But, for the second time I put a different page for publication using the same workflow and page being put to same publication space, all these mentioned in the publication workflow panel form, it gives me an error after I click on Start Workflow. The error is as follows: workflow doc ref: xwiki:Draft 1.demo 1.WebHome Action : start workflow.script.failed Help in this would be greatly appreciated. [xwiki-users] What does "Version 8.4.3 is installed as dependency" mean?

I wanted to import a word document to see how it does. I have xwiki 8.4.3. The Office Importer Application needs to be installed, as far as I can tell. Next to it's name it says 8.3, and in the header it has "Version 8.4.3 is installed as dependency". It does not have the blue Install button; instead it says "Downgrade". Dependencies listed are xwiki platform - office - importer 8.3 and then "version 8.4.3 is provided" xwiki commons - component - api and then "version 8.4.3 is provided" I have not found anything in the docs that explain what this means, although I expect the info is there somewhere. Does it mean that I have to downgrade my installation to 8.3 in order to get this extension to install? But another extension "File Manager Application" does have the blue install button; and it has many dependencies on apparently older extensions like velocity macro 5.4.4. I can't make sense of it. [xwiki-users] Attachment name encoding issue

Hello, I'm using Rest API to send some attachments into my XWiki as a multipart post (pages/xxx/attachments). Posting works fine and attachments appear and are loadable correctly. However decoding special characters such as é in attachment names fails. Uploading attachments via XWiki interface works well. For an examle: "méthodologie" is UTF-8 URI escaped as "m%C3%A9thodologie" and then used in the post method. Filename appears as "mÃ©thodologie" in XWiki, which indicates that XWiki uses different charset to do the decoding (%C3 => Ã, %A9 => ©). However, my XWiki is setup to use UTF-8. Forcing iso-8859-1 encoding leads to "m%E9thodologie" and attachment names is decoded correctly. Is this intended? How should I encode characters that are not represented in iso-8859-1 encoding? Also Tika Parser throws an error at files bigger than 100 000 characters (.pdfs with a lot of images). Skipping images in .pdf would help a lot. I didn't find a way to increase the limit via XWiki configuration files. Caused by: org.apache.tika.sax.TaggedSAXException: Your document contained more than 100000 characters, and so your requested limit has been reached. To receive the full text of the document, increase your limit. (Text up to the limit is however available). Any help is appreciated

[xwiki-users] Is there an easy way to copy paste multiple images onto a page?

One question I have about the very useful feature of xwiki is how to drag and drop multiple images onto a page. Offhand xmarks seems to create an image attachment called image.png; pasting another image onto the same page overwrites the first image, using with the same name. Any way to have xwiki increment the image names? [xwiki-users] Categorization of pages; tags?

I've been searching for docs and postings re categorization of xwiki pages. I didn't see anything built in so far but I may have missed it. I see there is a tags extension http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Tag+Application I'd expect categorization to be a major interest for xwiki users. Is this tag extension the main resource? Did I miss something built in? The page Content Organization <http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Features/ContentOrganization/> has nested pages and subwikis as the primary artifacts of organization. I will be creating a event tracker and it's going to be important to provide metadata for the posts. I'm very new to xwiki, but as I wrote this I realized that there are other built in features of xwiki which will help solve my needs. For example, if I can define a form or template (not sure about the terms) which contains a field Event Date, I hope that can become a hard data point which can be queried etc. Pretty sure this is so; and that solves some of the issues without a "category" or "tag" feature.
