The XWiki development team is pleased to announce the release of XWiki
Enterprise 2.7 and XWiki Enterprise Manager 2.7.
Go grab them at http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/Main/Download
This is the last major release of the 2.x development cycle (there will
still be bugfix releases on the 2.7.x branch, if needed). The next
release is going to be 3.0.
This is a stabilization release, with no major new features to
highlight. Some minor gems:
* Ability to set a color theme on each space
* UNC support in XWiki Syntax 2.1
* Support search on space name in the REST API
* Support for customizing the office export process

I have created a XWiki class as described in the FAQTutorial (
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/FAQTutorial),
I have then modified the Document Sheet code, and I have tried to use groovy
scripting instead of velocity. However when creating a new object, I get the
error
Failed to execute the [groovy] macro
org.xwiki.rendering.macro.MacroExecutionException: You don't have the right
to execute this script
whereas the same works if I translate the code into velocity. Editing an
existing page with the groovy script works fine, it only fails when creating
a new document. Any idea?
thanks
Vito
Hi
I get this error (Failed to execute the [html] macro) if I change the following:
#macro(ShowFlag $CountryCode)
#set($ImageExtension = '.png')
#set($CountryCodeFile = $CountryCode + $ImageExtension)
{{html}}
<img src="../../download/CdLSAssociations/FlagAttachments/$CountryCodeFile"
alt="$CountryCode"
title="$CountryCode"/>
{{/html}}
#end
to this
#macro(ShowFlag $CountryCode)
#set($ImageExtension = '.png')
#set($CountryCodeFile = $CountryCode + $ImageExtension)
{{html clean="true"}}
<div class="flags">
<img src="../../download/CdLSAssociations/FlagAttachments/$CountryCodeFile"
alt="$CountryCode"
title="$CountryCode"/>
<\div>
{{/html}}
#end
Why does adding the <div class...> and </div> give this error?

Hi all,
On my wiki, I have many modification and my list grown...
I search on forum and in Internet and i have not found any script to clean
the history
I just find a suggestion...
you can write a scheduler task that runs once a week and
resets the history for the documents with at least 50 versions, or
delete all versions older than one month, for example.
How can I create this on my wiki ?
Thanks for all.

Hi all,
I need to include a Google Map in a page. In XWiki 1.0 syntax I add a iframe
and that works fine (http://www.parisjug.org/xwiki/bin/view/Location/ISEP)
but with XWiki 2.0 syntax I can't make it work (
http://www.parisjug.org/xwiki/bin/view/Location/CIUP). I've added {{html
wiki="true"}} but it's the same problem.
How do I add a iFrame in a XWiki 2.0 page ? Is there an easier way to add a
Google Map (like a {{google map}} macro) ?
Thanks,
Antonio

Hi everyone,
I'd like to compare XWiki to other solutions out there in order to better understand where XWiki would need to be polished. I'd then propose to work on listing these areas, proposing them on the list for future roadmaps and I'm also willing to work on investigating these features, then i will start discussion thread on them so that we reach a consensus on how we would view these features developed in XWiki Enterprise.
If you know of them, could you please list solutions that I could compare XWiki with, by providing URLs to them and explain why you think they could be compared to XWiki. Note that the solutions you list can be either open source or not.
Example:
Lotus Notes
http://www-01.ibm.com/software/lotus/products/notes/
Lotus notes has easy apps abilities close to XWiki abilities in term of App creation within a page. On some RFP XWiki is a challenger of Lotus Notes.
Thank you.

Hi,
I am using a 3 columns layout and I would like to use a
background image in the right and left columns in such a way that the
background appears according to the height of the central column content
(i.e a 100% height of the main content area). What is the best way to
achieve this?
Thanks in advance

The XWiki development team is pleased to announce the release of XWiki
Enterprise 2.7 Release Candidate 1.
The 2.7 release is intended to be the last major release in the 2.x
cycle. As such, this release has stabilization as its primary goal, and
mostly provides bugfixes and minor improvements.
For more information, see the full release notes at:
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/Main/ReleaseNotesXWikiEnterprise27RC1
Thanks,
The XWiki dev team.
I don't consider myself an expert at CSS, but I can usually manage anything I
need. However, I cannot figure out how to stop the contentmenu bar (has the
edit, export, and more actions dropdown menus) from staying put over the
content area as I scroll down the page.
I'm sure this is probably ridiculously easy to change and is something I'm
overlooking, but I'd appreciate the help.
If anyone wonders why I want to in the first place, I'm trying to decrease
the width of the wiki to the same size as our other webapp (to make them look
the same), and when I do, the bar skews over out of place when you scroll
down. We don't need the bar to stay in place as a person scrolls anyway, so
I'd like to just turn that off.
Thanks for any help,
Lenny
I use "List of Users" property in my Exampleclass. I would like to display
First name and Last name instead of Username in documents of type
Exampleclass (also in livetable).
Also when I'm editing (inline form) document of that type, list of users is
displayed and it is sorted by FirstName, is it possible to sort list by
LastName instead?
Thank you

When I create the FAQ I get a screen that gives me the nice Wiki text input box and the Save & Continue and Save & View etc. buttons. If I wanted to modify this page how would I do it? How would I know where to modify such pages in the future so I'm not clogging up the email group with newbie questions?
Ultimately I'd like to give users of a space the ability to create a tree structure for classifying their FAQs. For example, one FAQ may be related to food and one FAQ may be related to computers. I'd like to add some sort of tree hierarchy for sorting/storing the FAQs.
Thanks
Hello group,
I'm trying to understand the options of xar import/export.
Given a set of pages, one has the following options to export:
- with history (ie. with previous version?)
- backup pack (with author-names?)
And to import:
- with history (i.e. ignore or not the fact that history is included in the xar?)
Are my interpretations correct?
Is there one way in these combinations to make it such as that the xar does not remove the previous history after importing?
thanks in advance
paul
