Hi everyone,
I'm always looking for the new releases from XWiki, and I was wondering if
it was possible to get these informations by email? instead of always going
on the site and checking if the new release has arrived or not.
In advance thanks
Best regards
Raphaelle

Hi everyone!
I just change the logo of my xwiki but I don't why, when the page is
loading, it takes several seconds loading the image. I followed the
instructions below:
* Choose an existing image or create a new one
* Resize it so that it is 220 pixels wide and 80 pixels high
* Save it as a PNG file and name it "logo.png"
* Upload the image as an attachment in /
xwiki/bin/view/XWiki/DefaultSkin
So, I want to know if this is the normal behavior.
Thanks in advance!

Hi XWiki lovers :),
By now you've probably seen the new menu bars that we have introduced
in XE 2.1M1. If not, please try XE 2.1M1 or check the release notes at
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/ReleaseNotesXWikiEnterprise21M1
Since the action menu has been heavily reworked we're interesting in
gathering feedback and thus ensure that you like the new menu as much
as we do.
If you have some problems with them please let us know ASAP (since the
2.1 final release is approaching fast - early December).
So whether you like them or not, please let us know what you think
about them.
Thanks a lot
Enjoy XWiki

Hello all,
We try to configure and use a 2.0.3 xwiki server (based on our 1.8.2 experience)
1) Problems found :
- During the import of a small sized Word document (3Mb - 20 pages - 7 pictures - few arrays), we had a crash (IE displayed the page about missing server). When we tried to opened again the main page, the imported document was partly created, with no picture displayed (but in attachment files) and with some HTML files in the attachment list. Since the crash we cannot log in the system anymore, we had to restart it (we use a LDAP authentication)
- When we try to insert a picture in a page, we change the width and height in the popup window to 50%. The picture is displayed well in the editor, once saved the picture is not displayed. If we edit again the page, the picture is displayed in the editor. If we try to insert the same picture without resizing it, it works well.
- Statistics / Insert of macro : you already know about this problems
I don't have the access permissions to the log, but if you need some traces, tell me and i will request them.
2) Questions :
- In the WYSIWYG editor, we cannot change the text color or background text color. Is there a way to do that ?
- In the Office Importer we cannot paste a PowerPoint slide, is there a way to do that ? We would like to import the content of PPT files and displayed them in a Wiki page.
3) Feedback :
The main feedback of the xwiki is a "waouh looks great". Users (IT and Business) all agree that it can be really usefull in them daily work and see the added value to work with it. Now, like many companies, we use a lot of Microsoft Office documents and they would like the import of documents working better (DOC, XLS, PPT - Formatting). Also, the insert of print screen could be easier than creating a JPG file and use then a copy/paste instead (i have to say that i don't know if it's possible or not)
But at the end, the feeling is very positive and we hope to see many more improvements soon in this great software.
Very good work all !

Hi,
I'm trying to create an instance of a class using the restful api however I keep getting back http error 400 bad request messages.
We are posting a string of propertyname=value pairs seperated by ampersands with a className property at the end set to the type of xwiki class that we would like to create.
1. Is a string of property=value pairs the right way to do this?
2. do I need to prefix "property#" infront of each property name?
3. Are there any logs which might give more insight into why http 400 bad request is being returned? Ive checked the xwiki.log and Jetty/logs/ folder but couldn't find anything detailed.
Thanks in advance
Radek
Evening, or at least here is starting to be late... :)
i am stuck at an issue here. is there a way to copy for instance(from the
ValidationSample.xar...the formulary...) the ValidationSampleCode[0] into
anothe space, as a class to a page in that page.
so if the class has 3 properties...string textarea number, then these to be
copied in a clone class .
ex:
page Val1 has the ValidationSample.ValidationSampleCode[0] attached
i want for the page TestPage(from another space) to have the
TestSpace.TestPageClass[0] attached to it.(this TestSpace.TestPageClass[0]
to be a clone of another class obj).
am i making any sense here for you

Hi is it only my part of the myxwiki that is hungup?
If I push the edit button the page loads and loads but doesn't get
anywhere.
One of the panels is also failing:
Error number 4001 in 4: Error while parsing velocity page

Hello,
I upgraded my wiki (webapp and xar) from 2.0.RC1 to 2.0.3.
While statistics are supposed to work (they were in RC1) as a bug was
solved, it seems in fact in 2.0.3 my statistics tables are not updated
anymore.
I did not change the xwiki.cfg so they should be activated as they used to.
I checked the list of plugins which seems ok.
There is no exception related to statistics in my logs.
Am I missing something ?
Thanks,
Jeremie
Hi Marius,
Thank you for the advice.
I will ask the team in charge of servers to update the system and hope to have back this functionnality (and statistics also).
We will wait for the 2.0.4 to be released as it takes time to update and will not do that with a non final release.

Hello,
When we try to insert a macro when editing a page, we have the message below displayed in the popup window (the HTML tags are also displayed).
We work with virtual wikis, the problem exists in the main wiki and all virtual wikis.

Hi everybody
We have an Xwiki production platform which includes the documentation of 2 of our applications. Infortunately, they don't nécessarely speak to each other.
The xwiki configuration file indicates that the encoding is ISO-8859-1 which works fine till now.
But one of the two applications wishes to give a XAR with xml files in ISO-8859-15...
Here is my question : can I put two encodings in the configuration file like "xwiki.encoding=ISO-8859-1,ISO-8859-15" to allow multiple encodings for different spaces ?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
I have a groovy script in a page, that loads some data and create pages and
objects with it.
Basically for each it gets a new Document, create a new Object in it, use it
to set all fields (no one is null), then create a new Object
"XWiki.TagClass", sets the tags, and then saves the document. This process
is repeated, as each input data will generate 2 documents/objects for 2
different custom classes.
For most documents there is no problem, while for some I get the following
kind of exceptions (always for one of the classes, never for the other) :
Error number 3201 in 3: Exception while saving document
MailArchive.MMKSonLinuxpatch22-01
Wrapped Exception: Row was updated or deleted by another transaction (or
unsaved-value mapping was incorrect):
[com.xpn.xwiki.objects.DateProperty#2009-09-14 15:57:26.0]
The exact same date string is used to save another document/object without
any problem (the Date fields have exactly same format).
It's not always a DateProperty that cause issues, it can also be Strings or
LargeStrings.
I tried to delete my custom class and recreate it, purge all created
documents (with doc.delete()), and also to purge all entries that were left
even after delete(), directly in database (in tables xwikidoc, xwikiobjects,
xwikistrings, xwikilargestrings, xwikidates and xwikirecyclebin), but it
seems the same input data will always have document.save() fail this way.
It seems it's always the second save() that can fail. This second save()
targets a different document, object and class, and it's not the same groovy
variables either. Could it happen that the first save() is not completely
finished and there is some problem with tables updates ? Would I have
something else to do to make sure previous transaction is finished ?
I believe it must be something in the data, but it's only strings,
largestrings and a date, so I don't know how to investigate more...
Thanks for any help,
Jeremie

Dear All,
Since I updated from XWiki Enterprise1.9 to 2.0.3.24848, I can't add
users to user-defined groups anymore. The new users are still assigned
to the default XWikiAllGroup. I had made an XAR from my 1.9 Xwiki space
to save some changes I made, which I imported again after updating.
(Incidentally, the Xwiki Rights, Xwiki Global Rights, Xwiki Stylesheet
Extension Class, XWiki Comment Class, XWiki Skin Class and the
Javascript Extension Class pages in the XWiki space show errors when I
look at them -- the exception: Failed to execute macro: velocity).
I fear that something went wrong when I reimported the old Xwiki space.
The rights seem to be affected with users having privileges which they
shouldn't have according to the rights settings. Could someone please
explain if any changes have been made to the macros on these pages from
version 1.9 to 2.0? If so, would it be possible to print the xwiki
editor content (where the velocity macros reside) in this forum so that
the content could be compared? An XWiki 2.0 space XAR would be fine too.
Then these old pages could be saved under other names, and only these
2.0 documents would be selected, imported and I could compare them.
Any help someone can offer on these matters would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.
Greetings,
Steven Calkins
The XWiki development team is pleased to announce the release of XWiki
Enterprise 2.1 Milestone 1.
Go grab it at http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download
It's the first and only milestone of the 2.1 version.
Main changes from 2.0.3:
* Re-design of the actions menus. Split the top menu into 2: one for
wiki and space level actions and one for page level actions.
* New renderer for mathematical formulae based on the Google Chart APIs.
* Added PHP support through a new PHP Macro (note that this Macro is
not bundled by default, you'll need to install it).
* Lots of improvements and bugfixes in order to conform to the Web
Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
* Macro parameter pretty names are now displayed in the WYSIWYG
* WYSIWYG editor performance improvement (Minimize and aggregate
WYSIWYG editor stylesheets at build time to reduce the number of HTTP
requests)
* Upgraded to JbossCache 3.2.1GA version

Hi,
I was wondering, can the modification date be manually overridden? I mean, how does the org.codehaus.swizzle.confluence.Page.setModified() work?
Thank you very much,
Allen

Hello
i am most amazed since yesterday regarding xwiki and the very weird changes
of skin, as a result of an editing a simple page, or editing a panel.
i have no logical explanation to this. I just edited an existing panel(added
a few normal links for pages from the wiki pages) AND my surprise was that
on viewing the pages i got myself a different color of skin.
yesterday, on another wiki(different computer. nothing to connect them) i
edited a page and got a differnet skin.
does anyone from the developers know anything about this? it cannot just
happend to me twice :D
Looking forward to discussing this.
Thank you.

Hello friends of XWiki,
Several XWiki members will be participating at FOSDEM next year in
February ( http://fosdem.org/ ), and we're trying to determine if
there's interest in applying for a devroom, which would mean half a day
or more of XWiki-related presentations.
- Are there any people interested in participating to such presentations?
- Does anybody want to do such a presentation, besides XWiki committers?
I'd need answers to these questions soon, since the deadline for
application is in two days. Note that FOSDEM is a developer-oriented
conference, so presentations should be rather technical.
FYI, there is no participation fee, anybody can attend FOSDEM as long as
there are places in the rooms.
