Hi!
Im trying to upgrade from xwiki 4.2 to 7.
I already installed xwiki 7 and postgres in another server for testing
purposes since Im new with xwiki. I adjusted the settings and started
postgres. Xwiki 7 is working fine. Although I think its a bit slow (I
installed in a virtual server, maybe thats it?).
My main question is how to import all the old content to the new xwiki?
I have a postgres dump of 11GB from the old xwiki. Should I use it in the
new xwiki? If so, how?
Is it the best way considering how far the versions are?
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like for some reason you don't have require.js loaded.
When you look at a page source do you find <script
type="text/javascript"
src="/xwiki/webjars/requirejs/2.1.15/require.min.js?r=1"></script> in
the head ?
If you do is this link actually returning you javascript ?

You should also probably clean your browser cache, just in case.

Greetings,
I've configured the Office converter on my Xwiki (Enterprise 6.2)
I'm using an external process, and the wiki can successfully connect to it.
The problem occurs once I've upload the file (a basic .odt file with basic
text and an empty table).
I've checked the logs, and here is the stacktrace :
I think it's a permission problem.. but I have no idea where XWiki is trying
to write the temporary converted file (I've worked with openoffice before,
and I know a temporary copy is always written somewhere)
/PS : Xwiki is running on Jetty./
Best Regards,

Ok so looks like XWiki webjars handling is not a big fan of root webapp.
Would be great if you could create a bug issue on http://jira.xwiki.org.

Hello,
We are using XWiki Enterprise 6.1 and the Watchlist Application.
Now I got a user who can go to the Watchlist page http://(DOMAIN)/xwiki/bin/view/XWiki/(USERN)?category=watchlist, but is not able to edit the "Watched elements" because the list is not showed.
We know there are elements he is watching because of the daily email and because the RSS feed shows the last modifications.
What can I do to let the user realy manage his watched elements?
Thanx for taking the time in reading this and probably answering my question.
Yours sincerly,

Hi,
I recently upgraded from XWiki 5.something to XWiki 7.1. The previous configuration stored attachments in the filesystem, using a location set in xwiki.properties:
environment.permanentDirectory=/myxwikidata/xwiki/data
After upgrading I am missing icons from the wiki, and links to attachments are broken. After consulting http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Filesystem+Attachment+… I see that the location used for attachments (obtained via Utils.getComponent(FilesystemStoreTools.class).storageDir.getAbsolutePath() ) is /var/cache/tomcat7/Catalina/localhost/xwiki/storage
Does anyone know where this location is set, and why the one in xwiki.properties is not used? I see mention in that file that:
"Note if the system property xwiki.data.dir is set then this property is not used."
But grepping the configuration files reveals no mention of the parameter xwiki.data.dir
HI
I'm interested in using eclipse ecore to develop xwiki applications, as this
is a framework is which is particularly powerful, mature and has a strong
model driven engineering eco-system supporting it.
How best would I go about this?
The eclipse project seems dead. I see there is an extension that claims to
do just what I am looking for - however it appears to be quite old
(http://www.objectsecurity.com/en-products-other-tech-semxwiki.html).
And the eclipse xwiki also seems very old, and no longer works with the
current 7x rest api.
is anyone doing anything similar? Besides via the web ui, how else do people
develop Xwiki data models?
Is it possible to import something like uml?
Thanks

Hi,
I install wiki with debian package.
My system is a Debian 7 or a Debian 8.
On the both servers, i have the same errors.
With packages, the install is OK.
With the browser, i open the page localhost:8080
The install starts and it is very very long (but i have a fiber optic !!!)
After install finished, i view the home page of the wiki.
And here, i have many errors in Javascript :
ReferenceError: require is not defined
Why ? Impossible to solve these errors !!
And the wiki don’t work !!
Impossible to edit a page !!!
I have purge all the debian packages and i started a new install .
For the same result !!!!
How do you do to solve this error ?
thanks for your help..
Julien
Can one copy/paste images directly into the page editor? I am testing with
the xwiki.org sandbox.
It seemed to work, ie the image appeared in the wysiwyg editor. But when I
try to view it it loses all content and reports an html parse error.
Hmmm...even when I try to upload from my local disk, as an attached image,
it reports "An error occurred while uploading your file" even though the
path is valid.
Are images useable in xwiki, or is it just that the xwiki sandbox does not
work right?

Thanks Thomas,
Sorry about the double question. It was intended to be only one :-) I am however able to cancel the SAVE by canceling the ActionExecutingEvent(SaveAction.ACTION_NAME) which is triggered by the Save. This however displays an empty page when I send an event.cancel().
It would be a solution if I could somehow display the previous page or some kind of error message. I’m not that much of an expert in Java / xWiki that I understand if and how this could be accomplished. Any suggestions?

Peter

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to stop the document from being saved using this event listener (or any similar event listener for that matter)?
With kind regards,
Peter
Hello XWiki experts,
today, I tried to install a fresh xwiki. I downloaded the jetty thing in
the current release (I do not like installers) and adjusted the
hibernate.cfg.xml to uncomment the MySQL part and have
<property
name="connection.url">jdbc:mysql://localhost/notationCensus</property>
and related user and password.
At launch, http://localhost:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Main/, however, it tells me:
com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Access
denied for user 'xwiki'@'localhost' to database 'xwiki'
So...
- the change to MySQL is well received
- the change of user is right (I also tried changing it)
- but the database name seems to be stuck.
Is there some multiwiki ghost somewhere that I need to educate?
thanks in advance.
Paul
Hi all,
After upgrading from 4.4.1 to LTS 6.4.4 it seems that something gets
messed up with global user rights on subwikis.
If I perform a save on XWikiPreferences page of the subwiki (via
Administer Wiki), global users lose access (at least view rights) on
this subwiki. These rights are restored automatically (something gets
refreshed?) if I do some of the following:
* Modify anything in rights section both in global wiki and subwiki,
even if it does not affect user directly: for example,
adding/removing a user/subgroup to the group of the problematic user
* Save anything on user's profile (password, email...)
* Re-set again user's rights or user's group rights
Pitifully those rights are lost, once again, when saving on
XWikiPreferences page.
This does not happen for local users neither if I perform a save on
other subwiki pages.
Perhaps related to this, after upgrading, local users are no longer able
to see the left panels I'm using on subwiki, but global users do.
What might be happening?
Greetings,
Iago
I tried to add video on my test xwiki (6.4.3) and I got the error:
Error number 0 in 11: Uncaught exception
com.xpn.xwiki.XWikiException: Error number 0 in 11: Uncaught exception

Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

Video file size - 35Mb
In nginx.conf - "max_client_body_size 0"
I can't find where in postgres I can point max_size.

It looks like the problem is you're trying to play an AVI on a wiki page
and the video macro is only designed to embed players such as youtube
or dailymotion.
Ping Mohamed, looks like your project has a potential user :)

Hey,
I would like to know if there is the possibility of concluding a login and
password in the link to the XWiki. I would like to allow other users to
login without entering data. Is it possible?
Regards,
Maciek.
Hi guys and gals,
XWiki Labs is proud to present an early (but working!) prototype of an Application Development Environment in XWiki.
I want to put out a big congradulations to the Labs team's most recent member Yann Flory for making this great work possible in record time.
We went to great lengths to avoid "nice features" such as syntax highlighting and autocompletion which are likely
sources of bugs so that we could provide a basic workflow which is stable enough to provide you something you can
start using today.
You can install XWebIDE right now from http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/XWebIDE+Application
or by searching for "XWebIDE" on the Extension Manager.
If you're developing extensions or projects on top of XWiki, start playing with XWebIDE and tell us what you think.
If you have ideas for better workflows and user experiences, we want to hear it!
* Should it be integrated in App Within Minutes? If so, how?
* How would you want to create a project? Should there be a wizard? What steps?
* What else would you like this to allow you to do?
You can write your feedback ideas and report bugs on JIRA at http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWEBIDE or write to me.
Thanks,
Caleb
