Thanks for the assistance, I was able to add the superuser account and add
these entries on all the pages.. huge pain.
I am still puzzled by one thing - maybe I don't understand...
I left one page with only the AdminGroup (admin, edit - allow) permission,
and was still not able to edit the page. Once I added the XWikiAllGroup
(edit - allow) I was able to edit the page?
I take it that the XWikiAllGroup is needed on all pages for even the Admin
to be able to edit the page? or do I have something set up wrong.
What brought all this on, I was trying to set up an section that can only be
viewed by a specific group.

No, if you don't touch to the
rights, they are editable by everyone.
Have you modify "space access rights" or "wiki access right"?
