Well is there must be something amiss since
it's fast usually.

Hard to know without knowing more of your setup.
Some questions:
1) what database?
Postgres
2) how many documents in your db?
just a few. so this should not be a problem
3) what do you mean by slow? like 1 second or 10
seconds?
you can check at www.sourcekibitzer.com 4) is it a special page or all pages that are
slow?
all pages actually are slow.
5) have you enabled the statistics module? (off
by default)
it should be default, as we didn't enable this by hand.
