Hi!
I'm a new xwiki user and have a scenario where I'm offline (not connected to
the internet) and need to see the xwiki documentation in order to install,
extend, create plugins, etc.. Is there any way to export the xwiki
documentation pages (on-line machine) so that I can import them in another
xwiki instance (offline machine)?

Hi,
There are 3 options I can think of right now:
1. You use a site downloader
2. You ask one of the admins to give you an export of the (interesting
parts of the) site, which you can later import in an XWiki instance on
your computer
3. You can try the newly released XEclipse plugin for eclipse which
lets you download an XWiki site and browse it from within eclipse.

I will start with the third option because Eclipse is the IDE which I
currently use to develop software in Java. I tried to use a site downloader
(wget), but it starts to download a lot of things and I just want the
documentation part.

wasn't tested much, so a user's opinion is most welcome. However,
don't expect too much from it, as it is just a very early release with

How can I discover the xml rpc address, user and password for the site
www.xwiki.org so that I can try to access the documentation pages from
inside eclipse? As far I understood the xwiki eclipse plug-in, this
information is mandatory in order to connect, right?

If you want an username and password you need first to create an account.
You can do so easily by clicking on "register" on the top right of the
screen on XWiki.org and then follow the steps.

Please follow the instructions on
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Code/XEclipseExtension on getting
started with XEclipse plugin.
Connection url should be something like,
http://<host>/xwiki/xmlrpc/confluence
But the problem is, off-line mode is not implemented in XEclipse yet. Please
wait for the next release (most probably on 10th september or close) for
this feature to be available.
