Environment: We are using Enterprise 1.4 Scenario: Created XYZSpace Created XYZUser Created XYZGroup and added XYZUser Gave XYZGroup global view rights for XYZSpace XYZUser can view XYZSpace Created GlobalViewer user Gave GlobalViewer global view rights GlobalViewer can view main GlobalViewer can not view XYZSpace My question is: How is a GlobalViewer created? Intuitively is seemed like going to the global rights tab and granting the GlobalViewer view rights would work everywhere. But oddly, the GlobalViewer did not have rights in XYZSpace when specific view rights had been granted to another user in the XYZSpace. Hi Guys: I have been reading everywhere and I can't find a solution that fits my problem. I have 2 users - Admin (Standard). - User1 (All possible rights for Space called Test). Now I acces Test.WebPreferences And I get 2 Tabs: - Space Prefs. - Space Rights. (So far so good) But when I press the Space Rights Tab the Ajax table that should show my users and groups doesnt show any names... The Only correct information it displays is how many of each existe. In the meanwhile When I log in as Admin and access the Administration area everything works fine both tables on global rights and space rights work fine. Can anybody help me out? Or give me a hint to where I should look to solve this problem. Im using the Xwiki enterprise 1.5 milestone. I need it for XWiki Workspaces 1.1 branch (it can't rely on 1.2-SNAPSHOT/trunk, since this last has dependencies on core 1.5 now). Curriki could need it too when it will upgrade to XWiki 1.4. Hi, Scenario: Create space XYZSpace Create user Xwiki.XYZAdministrator Give user Xwiki.XYZAdminister administrative rights in XYZSpace Administration link shows on XYZ.WebHome But, when Xwiki.XYZAdministrator clicks the link he's not allowed to view the Xwiki.XwikiPreferences page So.. Xwiki.XYZAdministrator can't grant view or edit rights to XYZSpace to other users So then... we give Xwiki.XYZAdministrator administrative rights to the Xwiki space Now he is allowed to veiw the Xwiki.XwikiPreferences page But, he can now grant global rights to any users Which seems odd to us The question is: How can a user that has administrative rights in a space, but has no rights in the xwiki space, be able to grant view or edit rights to other users in the space he can administer. If a space administrator can't administer users rights to the space he can administer what is the point of granting administrative rights at the space level? Please help. [xwiki-devs] [PROPOSAL] Apply patch attached XWIKI-2149 before 1.5M2 release

Hello devs, I would like to propose to apply Marius's patch attached to http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-2149 ("Extend the FeedPlugin to allow the creation of RSS/Atom feeds from any source"), in order to have it available in 1.5. The patch comes with unit tests, and does not change existing code (it only adds new classes in the feed plugin/introduce a new util class in com.xpn.xwiki.util, + new APIs in the feed plugin API). I believe it is not harmful. I'm +1 for it, and dedicated to apply it if we agree we want it. Jerome. (btw, this is a prerequisite for XE-240: Improve XE RSS feeds, marked as fix for M2)

Hello, I would like to modify object/class editor by integrating some richer UI widgets such as tabviews. Apparently, you are trying to get rid of Rico, YUI and trying to do as much as possible with Proto...culous But Protoculous doesn't provide tabviews for example. In this case, what do you advise as JS framework for this? YUI as it is already integrated in XWiki and can be used with velocity? GWT by redeveloping a set of serverside APIs but without the possibility to use velocity? regards Pascal

[xwiki-devs] my attempt at building a development curriki

Hello fellow developers, I followed http://curriki.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/InstallationInstructions building with maven 2.0.9 on MacOSX to get curriki running on a development machine. - building went very fine - tried changing things in xwiki.cfg but the indicated property is not there and xwiki.cfg contains an amount of "undefined" values, importantly the encoding and default-Skin among others. I could add each of the missing properties (i.e. the properties used in xwiki.cfg generation) by adding sibblings of the element <xwikiCfgEditCommentMandatory>. Similarly, I could add the dependency on our postgres driver by enriching the dependencies in this pom.xml, and I could add a few properties which seemed not correct in xwiki.cfg in the xwikiCfgAdditionalProperties element. I also activated superadmin... the indicated admin password didn't work there I think. - changing the hibernate.cfg.xml I could do as well, but it should be said not to change the one in target... since it gets overriddent at every build, but the one in web/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF At the end I got, with two changed files, a webapp that seems to match my expectations and which actually started. Ideally, these changes should happen in an extra file... is there space for this? Something such as ~/build.properties in maven-1? After changing catalina.sh to bump memory, I could import the xar (which I built as well). There I got stuck because I had to put albatross and not toucan as default and base skins. After that I could import the xar and it started looking like curriki. The log showed an amount of errors which I've ignored thus far. I concluded with the three manual steps... are they here to stay? Should I try to update the installation instructions or are there enhancements to my procedure? I'm pretty happy with this adventure.... I could, right away, record a podcast. paul

Currently this plugin can convert the attachment file which is a office document to html code. This project use jodconverter[1] as the conversion framework which leverage the openoffice power. Please read the README with the code to test. This officeimporter plugin is simple and do a simply tidy html work. don't concern picture handler, xwiki syntax conversion. However, I'll add those feature in the future. Now I have to write my thesis in the day time, so I only can work on that project after 6 pm and the weekend. Hense sorry for the delay. Todo List 1. clean html with htmlclean[2]. Furthermore, remove the office document special html code. remove <html> <body> <script>. html also have some content that conflict with xwiki syntax like [notlink]. 2. handle pictures in the office file. Maybe upload the images to xwiki as the attachments. Hense I need to go over how xwiki address attachment. Replace <src> with {image:} 3. convert html to xwiki. As Vincent said, I should read the html parser and wikimodel. I think this can be a option for user. 4. provide the interface for inputstream and outputstream. Hense this plugin can be used in the xwiki code. 5. intergrate it to wysiwyg editor. product a feature to convert local office file to xwiki page. This should use the xwiki upload feature. Now I'm a little confused that I afraid I can't finish all the task above before the middle exam. What should I do? Which task to pick as first priority? Any suggestion will be very appreciated. Hi JV, This is a Skin issue not a XE one (we need a jira in the Albatross skin). Also this means that we should no longer release the Albatross and Toucan skins for 1.4.x or before (it's ok we just need to know it - We can always release on a branch if need be). [xwiki-devs] Stacked bar chart

Hi all, I have searched around the place looking for examples or tips on how to do a stacked bar chart. I can create a default bar chart but cant create any other type bar chart. The http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Macros/ChartingSamples charting samples do not give much information other than how to create a default bar chart. The http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Macros/ChartMacro Chart macro documentation doesnt mention anything about it either. Is there another parameter to specify if the chart is to be stacked, layered, level or 3d? Also this link http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Dev/ChartDemo (chartDemo) didnt work either. [xwiki-devs] Suport for non versioned properties and more efficient saving

Artem, Can you look at integrating the following jira items in your schedule: http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-2470 http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-2471 The objective would be to support non-versioned properties in XWiki Objects. Modifications to there properties would never make a new version of the document. At the same time we would highly improve our saving by not resaving data that are not changed. This would have great effect on big documents. If we had these in the standard API it would allow us not to write a separate plugin and storage on a client project. [xwiki-devs] [GSOC]can't commit to sandbox

Hi, I want to commit my code to sandbox. I use eclipse with subeclipse to do this. Vincent have added my id in xwiki.org "daning" into commiter group. When I commit my code, eclipse prompt me to input username and password. Then I input daning and my password. However, this doesn't work. Anyone can help? Thanks. -- Sincerely, Wang Ning
