There is a new GWT api using restlets which seems to allow to access a REST api as GWT Objects.. This sounds exactly what we would need. [xwiki-devs] Faster Maven Repositories.

Hi All, I was so fed-up of the central maven repository because it is too damn slow here (srilanka). So I searched a bit and found this article<http://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-mirror-settings.html>, which explains how to add mirrors to your settings.xml file. For me, the following mirror setting seems to work a lot faster (though i don't know how) <mirrors> <mirror> <id>skynet.be</id> <url>http://maven2.mirrors.skynet.be/pub/maven2</url> <mirrorOf>central</mirrorOf>  </mirror> </mirrors> I want to know whether this is a good idea (i mean the use of other mirrors). [xwiki-devs] About WebDav Integration

Hi Devs, I managed to pave my way into jackrabbit-webdav module (I was able to put up a simple WebDav server using jackrabbit-webdav) This was made difficult by the fact that i couldn't find any documentation on jackrabbit-webdav (except for the javadoc on source). I would appreciate if you have any information on following issues, * Any other viable WebDav server libraries ? * Any other source of documentation for jackrabbit-webdav (except for javadocs, RFC 2518 and RFC 2068 ) ? * Where are we going to put xwiki-webdav on the xwiki source tree ? (xwiki-platform-web / xwiki-webdav is my guess) * I'm little uncertain about handling authentication in webdav interface, any ideas ? ( it is not specified in http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Design/WebDAVService ) Please provide any other valuable information / guidance that could help me. Thanks. - Asiri

Has anyone succeeded in using the Excel plug-in with XE 1.3? If so, could you please provide guidance on how you got it to work? The instructions I was using were: Installation Download the Java Excel API <http://jexcelapi.sourceforge.net/> and copy the jxl.jar file to the %xwikipath%/WEB-INF/lib/ directory of your xwiki installation. Edit your WEB-INF/xwiki.cfg file as follows: xwiki.plugins=[...],edu.uci.ics.mondego.wiki.plugin.excel.ExcelPlugin Copy the plugin jar <http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Plugins/ExcelPluginDownload> to the %xwikipath%/WEB-INF/lib/ directory of your xwiki installation. [xwiki-devs] interesting to collaborate with a project

Dear all I am a level 3 Computer Science and Engineering undergraduate at University of Moratuwa,Sri Lanka.Currently i have almost finished implementing a member section at E-channelling (pvt) Ltd which is the market leader of health care system upon online channel booking system and first listed company in Colombo stock exchange.I developed this project from the scratch using STRUTS2 web framework.I am now fairly familiar those areas passionating specially on JAVA. I am really interesting in doing a project upon XWiki.Indeed a review application. Here i have understood that it would better to devide this review application into two portions.first one is indeed the user interactivity portion .In this case i hope to develop the review mode of client portion (adding reviews,with anchoring facility) just by clicking on a spot on the document. Then the second portion is author portion,It is the case whenever the author of a particular document wants to see reviews for his stuff he should be in a position to list up all the reviews in a regular way and takes suitable action accordingly while accessing each and every reviews without a mesh. Is their any different idea apart from what i have intended above,if so pl let me know I am still trying to familiarize with XWiki platform cheers harsha(hala)
