[xwiki-devs] GSoc 2008 Proposal: Gadget Media and Content site integration

Hello, my name is Carlos Maciel I'm a graduating student in Computation at UFPE, Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil, I read some projects and I would like to work in a XWiki project in this GSoc called Gadget Media and content sites integration. I really liked this idea and want send a form to this project. I already read something about the open social api, XWiki macros and Shindig server. I have some ideas about the architecture of the project but I need some advice, I would be glade if I could get some feedback about my proposal. My mainly idea is to build macros to integrate some google gadgets, open social application and RSS feeds possibly using the Shiding server to suport the macros or help it. Hi all, I'm a final year student in Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.Since this is the end of the semester, we are bit relax. So I just thought to give a try on GSOC 2008. While I have gone through the mentoring organizations and their project ideas, I found the XWiki projects. Also one of my friend (Asiri), encouraged me to give a try on XWiki projects. I have experienced on Java language and related technologies like Spring, Hiberanate, Struts and Tiles frameworks. Also I have worked on Java Script as well. I'm so interested on your project idea "Gadget, Media and Content sites integration" and want to know more details and the scope you are expecting. I guess it is a project which has much flexibility, which allows to integrate lot more interesting existing components like youtube.I would like to have a discussion with the mentors about the project and sharp my knowledge about the project. Since this is our last semester, I'm quite free to do developments. So hope to hear a good response from you. Thank you. [xwiki-devs] GSoC 2008 : Office Import

Hi, I'm a graduate student from Institute of Software, China Academy of Sciences. My major is web service and service compute. I'm family with SOAP/HTTP web service and we have developed a soap engine. Now we are improve our engine to support RESTful web service. My major programming language is java. However, I have experience with linux shell programming, hibernate. I used spring framework to build the web interface for our soap engine. One year ago, I used xwiki for the knowledge sharing system and collaboration platform in our lab. I did some work for translate Xwiki to Chinese interface. Furthermore, I discussion some configuration for using Chinese characters in xwiki. Now I wanted to import some microsoft word document to xwiki document, but the wysiwyg editor didn't work so well. Thus, I want to improve it. However I can't find so many detail information about this project as other projects, such like Presentation Application project. if you use -nsu flag in maven, it will not download the snapshots from maven servers but use the ones you build. if you are building xwiki from trunk then version would always be 1.4-SNAPSHOT. Hi, I would like to contribute on xwiki projects specialy on Gadget, Media and Content sites integration.As it is mentioned, can easily add openWYSIWYG to custom web application by just adding a few very simple lines of JavaScript code.So may I know the scope of the project and to where this integration fit in the xwiki core? Hello Pascal, I had the ecs-1.4.2.jar file in ecs/ecs/1.4.2 and also these 2 files - ecs-1.4.2.pom, ecs-1.4.2.pom.sha1. But I deleted that entire folder and ran maven again. It worked. :-) Thanks.... Can you tell me what does "xwiki-core-1.2-rc-1.jar" contain and how is it different from "xwiki-core-1.3-SNAPSHOT.jar" Both these jars are present in the "\XWiki Enterprise\webapps\xwiki\WEB-INF\lib" If I replace both of these with the "xwiki-core-1.4-SNAPSHOT.jar" that was created as a result of the build, I get ClassDef not found error for the org.observation.event class But, it works if I just replace the 1.3 snapshot with 1.4 snapshot. Is that how it is supposed to behave. what is "xwiki-core-1.2-rc-1.jar" for? Thanks
