[xwiki-devs] [VOTE] create a JIRA project for an XWiki help desk product

Hi all, This email is a follow up to my previous one titled "XWiki help desk". I propose you to vote for the creation of a JIRA project for managing the issues related to an XWiki help desk product. Note that the tool may be used for creating an issue tracker at some point. The development will take place in the XWiki sandbox for now. Hi everyone, In order to foster more participation in writing the documentation for xwiki.org I've created a Draft space: http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Draft/ (it's linked from the Community space) This is it's description,: "This is a space for XWiki contributors interested in helping on the xwiki.org documentation. The other spaces on xwiki.org are meant to contain finished documentation so if you wish to start working on some part of the documentation (like new tutorials, etc) but you plan to do it over a relatively long period of time, or collaboratively with others, or simply if you prefer to show your work to others before it's made public to everyone, then you should create documents in this space and link them from this page." Please join us in improving the XWiki documentation. What would be the most welcome at this stage would be tutorials for the DevGuide which is where we're lacking good doc. Thanks everyone -Vincent

Hi Richard, I see you've started the following page on xwiki.org: http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/DatabaseTutorial However you've left it empty for some time now. Are you working on it? When do you plan to fill the content? If you just created it so that others fill it, then I suggest we remove it as xwiki.org is meant to contain nice finished doc as much as possible and I don't like the TODOs in there as it looks like in it's in construction. In that case I suggest creating a Draft space for putting unfinished work. WDYT? Thanks -Vincent

Hi, There is a note on Tags and it further goes on to say how to create Structured tags. I'm not able to get the tags in that form. [xwiki-devs] [Panels/Widgets] Use wiki panels objects in page

Hi, For XEM and statistics needs, Laurent designed a nice "in page" style CSS for panels to be able to use them to display informations in a page. Based on that I made a #panelLayout macro that take number of columns and list of panels to print and construct a very simple "Netvibes" like look. You can view an example here : http://sandbox.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/TestPanels/Layout2. The current macro/CSS support from 1 to 5 columns, take all available with and redistribute for each column by percent values. I would like to add this feature in xwiki-web-standard 1.2 but also in 1.1.2 as XEM is based on xwiki-platform 1.1.* WDYT ? Regards, -- Thomas Mortagne

[xwiki-devs] [Package plugin] Export documents with withVersions=false

Hi all, The packager internal plugin take care if import/export of XAR. It also can be configured and one of theses options is "withVersion". In export mode this options just indicate that the document history is included in export or not. In fact this option is really used in XWikiDocument.toXMLDocument(boolean, boolean, boolean, boolean, XWikiContext). What I dont understand is why this option did not also reset or delete all version related document's parameters : "version" and "creator", "author", "contentAuthor", "creationDate", "date", "contentUpdateDate" (and maybe more I forget) that are also related to version for me. I would like to add a "if withVersion=true" for all theses values. WDYT ? Regards, -- Thomas Mortagne
