Hi Supreet,
XEM scope is to manage multiple instances of wikis.
For example, http://www.xwiki.org/ is a XEM that manages multiple sub-wikis,
like
http://enterprise.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/
http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/
As you can see each wiki can have differences in the way stuff are
displayed. On xwiki.org only the ColorTheme is changed (different color,
different logo), not the skin (but changing the skin for each sub-wiki is a
valid use case).

Hi,
First of all the scenario described there happens in a multi-wiki
environment.
If you want to play and set up multiples wikis you need to use XEM (XWiki
Enterprise Manager)
http://manager.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/
not just a XE instance.
Then you need to create a skin file (page having a XWikiSkins object
attached to it) and override the menuview.vm from it.
