[xwiki-users] [ANN] IMPORTANT for users posting from Nabble

Dear Nabble users, We've just noticed a problem. If you've been posting through the Nabble UI (see http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/Forum ) then it's possible you've posted neither to the "XWiki - User" sub forum nor to the "XWiki - Devs" sub forum which means that you've posted to the root forum and this root forum is not linked to any mailing list. This means that your messages have not reached the XWiki Users and Devs mailing lists and thus nobody has seen them. Which explains why you haven't received answer to your messages… We had put the following notice on http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/MailingLists : " Note that using Nabble allows you to post to the forum without registering (the post will not be sent to the XWiki mailing list though and thus only users checking the forum will see your post). Even though we don't like users to do this (since users will not automatically receive answers to their questions for example and it doesn't create a relationship) it might come handy under some circumstances. " However seen the number of posts not sent to the list and which don't have any answer it's not working. Thus we've decided to not allow anymore posting to the root forum and from now on you'll need to post to the User or Dev forum which means you'll need to register on the xwiki lists too. When you create a messae Nabble guides you on how to do this. Thus if you've sent messages through Nabble but haven't received any answer please consider resending them. [xwiki-users] login status gets lost

running test XAR installation of 4.1.2 in Win7 x64, JRE 7b05 x64, Jetty (from TrackStudio), HSQLDB after i checked "remember me" during login (i guess that switches session credentials passing from URL GET to cookies), i find that some sporadic times the login is just lost, i suddenly get treated as anonymous. Most noticeable (or most frequent maybe) moments is when i try to engage open server for importing - or just manually start it. Like page might believe that i am authenticated enough, yet action executor would consider it not enough and diminish the session to non-auth. Just booted my Windows, launched Jetty, found myself still loggen into XWiki as admin, opened config and pressed started Office Server. Voila - i was redirected to logins screen, where i had to enter my login credentials twice (not mis-typing here, all from browser's auto-complete) and then i got back onto Office Server config page - and the server was NOT started, so the action had either failed or been aborted. The second attempt succeeded. [xwiki-users] Error on import

Hi, I'm trying to import a package of documents from xwiki 3.4 to a new xwiki 4.1.3 instance (the automatic database migration failed, so I tried another method). The attachment storage is "file". Hi everyone, I'm new on xwiki, never heard of it before but here in the company they want to give it a try. I've been searching a lot now about this error and I think mine is quite particular from what I read and my conf. I followed this steps in order to complete the xwiki installation. 1) Copy the xwiki.war into the webapps folder,inside a new folder called xwiki 2) Copy the mysql driver (mysql-connector-java-5.1.9.jar) into $TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/xwiki/WEB_INF/lib 3) Edit the hibernate.cfg.xml file to use the mysql database 4) Then opened Mozilla at http://myaddres:9191/xwiki/ I get the following error pointing to hibernate.cfg.xml from what I see javax.servlet.ServletException: com.xpn.xwiki.XWikiException: Error number 3 in 0: Could not initialize main XWiki context Wrapped Exception: Error number 3202 in 3: Exception while reading document [name = [XWikiPreferences], type = [DOCUMENT], parent = [name = [XWiki], type = [SPACE], parent = [name = [xwiki], type = [WIKI], parent = [null]]]] Wrapped Exception: Could not create a DBCP pool. Hi All, How i can embed source code on Xwiki. I have some java programming languange and some linux command on my xwiki document. How i can embed it as view as source code on xwiki Is there syntax highlighter plugins or something like that for xwiki ? Thanks

Hi! check http://wiki.x.org/xwiki/inline/ColorThemes/DefaultColorTheme Attach new logo to this page first and edit in ColorTheme editor via link above. Just fill in picture name and save. Should work. [xwiki-users] HMTL import ?

i see there is HTML export regardless of OpenOffice launched but i cannot see HTML import. Maybe there is just no import infrastructure outside visual editor, and latter only knows about OpenOffice formats, dunno. But HTML format for exchanging simple documents is not less used than RTF :-) And it can be parsed and imported regardless OpenOffice presence (It is already done to a point. Office documents are converted into HTML then imported).
